- Title 24 Requirements
What is Title 24 Compliance?
Title 24 is part of the California state building code.
Part of this code requires a minimum level of energy efficiency for new heated or cooled structures, including additions.
A Title 24 energy compliance report is proof to your local building department that your design meets or exceeds this minimum standard.
Title 24 Energy Compliance
If you need Title 24 energy compliance documentation, you have come to the right place. Whether you have a residential or commercial project, we have the knowledge and expertise to provide the most cost effective solutions for any project of any size.
Golden State Energy Consultants performs Title 24 Energy Analyses for both you and your customers in all of the following areas:
HERS is the Home Energy Rating System which provides Title-24 energy code credits for measures incorporated in the design of a project that required Title-24 third party inspection and verification. Some of these are: Duct testing, High Quality Insulation installation (QII), and Blower Door tests.
These verifications confirm that these energy saving measures were installed correctly. Many of the utility incentive programs require HERS third party verification to qualify for their incentive programs.
A HERS rater has been trained and certified to perform third party energy efficiency verification inspections and tests such as duct testing and blower door tests. The HERS rater cannot have any financial involvement with the construction project, for example the HVAC system installer cannot perform the HERS duct testing, and the insulation installer cannot perform the QII verification inspection of the installation of the insulation as this would be an obvious conflict of interest.
We are Certified HERS Raters for 2005 and the new 2008 Title-24 Standards
